Our Staff
Rev. Shelly McNaughton-Lawrence
Senior Pastor
Shelly joined the staff of Aldersgate in July 2006.
She has a deep passion for sharing the love and compassion of the Christian life with people from all walks of life. Shelly grew up attending the Shawnee United Methodist Church in Shawnee, KS, and has been active in all areas of ministry since her youth.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television Journalism from Kansas State University and received her Masters of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology.
Shelly has served churches all over the United States, including California, Florida, Iowa and throughout Kansas. She received the Denman Evangelism Award in 2000.
Shelly and her husband Eric have two children, Sarah and Sean.
Kyungbum Kyun
Assistant Pastor
Kyungbum joined the Aldersgate Staff in September 2022 as the new Assistant Pastor. He is attending at Saint Paul School of Theology.

Kara Stanley
Director of Discipleship
Kara joined the Aldersgate Staff in July 2021 as the new Director of Discipleship. She received her undergraduate degree in Secondary

Education from UMKC and received her Masters of Divinity from Central Baptist Seminary. Kara has served in various forms of ministry throughout her entire career. She hopes to foster “intergenerational engagement” in all our areas of ministry here at Aldersgate.
Becky Waters
Worship Art Director
Becky comes to us with a lifetime of church music experience. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s and master’s degree

DeEtt Hobbs
Office Assistant
DeEtt comes to us with a lifetime of experience of office, managerial, and accounting experience. Most recently, she worked in a lab managing

personnel, payroll, and scientists. DeEtt began her employment with us on April 28, 2023. She enjoys lake life and time on the boat with her husband. DeEtt is a great addition to our team with her sense of humor and can-do spirit. Her favorite drink is black coffee; the darker, the better, and her favorite TV Show is Yellowstone.
